On Saturday I purchased a used 2012 Prius. It did not come with floor mats, so they ordered a replacement set. The ones they gave me are dark gray, but the carpet in the vehicle is darker, almost charcoal. Is it normal for the floor mats to be a different color from the carpet itself?
It's more likely the color will match the seat covers more than the carpeting. Check the Toyota part number to see if the floor mats they ordered are for a 2012 or different year. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
The mat color is about midway between the seats and the carpet. Seats are light gray, carpet is charcoal/black. I'll check the part number when I have a chance.
They almost never matches. The factory floor mats are either dark gray or black for 2012-15, mine came with dark gray. A look into Prius Chat Shop has this info: Part #s Year Black Misty Gray Dark Gray 2010 PT926-47100-40 PT926-47100-10 PT926-47100-11 2011 PT926-47100-40 PT926-47100-10 PT926-47100-11 2012 PT926-47120-40 PT926-47120-11 2013 PT926-47120-40 PT926-47120-11 2014 PT926-47120-40 PT926-47120-11 2015 PT926-47120-40 PT926-47120-11
There's a slight possibility they gave you a 2010/2011 carpet mat which is medium to slightly dark grey. IIRC, the 2012-2015 "dark grey" interior is slightly darker than the 2010-2011. It depends on the combination. Sometimes they're an exact match, sometimes they're not. I just googled a 2012 Prius interior and this photo shows up with mismatching carpet mats
I have a similar question about mats for a 2008 I recently bought. Is there any way to know the carpet color?
No but for the Gen 2, there were only two options - Bisque (beige) and grey. AFAIK, there weren't any changes throughout the generation.
Apologies but can someone tell me how to start a new thread? I can reply as here but can't start anything anew.
