For sale: single owner 2005 Prius, color red with tan interior, currently odometer reads approximately 206k miles. Approximately 1yr ago I replaced the HV battery when mileage was about 196k miles. Engine is running great and has had maintainence been done on regular basis. Body is solid with zero rust and other than a couple of small cosmetic dents it is great! Seat covers from day one, so Interior is great shape. Currently the brakes could use new pads and front rotors. In May of last year the transaxle failed and during the past 6 months have replaced it with another that had 68k miles. After completing the swap of transaxle my mini-VCI reported that I have P0A78 and P0AA6 codes being displayed. So I'm assuming that the replacement transaxle had some issues that were undeclared when I purchased it. I still have the original transaxle which also is included with vehicle. Hate to part with it, but I need the garage space and perfectly honest swapping out transaxle has physically taken more out of me than expected, and if weather was warmer I'm sure that I would complete putting in another transaxle. With replacement, I'm sure that you could easily get another 100-200k miles out of it, as owning it has been a pleasure. Photos are available upon request, and price is negotiable. Dan Lenox
sorry, location is in WV, basically right where PA/MD/WV all come together, small town called Terra Alta I'd love to get $2000, but make offer dan
What was the original HV battery replaced with? Random junkyard pack? Used rebuilt? If so what company. New from Toyota?
got battery from GreenTech Auto (greentecauto.com) it was the rebuilt battery with remanufactured 2nd gen cells
replacement battery from GreenTech Auto originally ran $1500 ($1200 battery + $300 shipping) and only has about 10k miles on it, batteries typically have 10yr shelf life so there still is about 9yrs remaining engine is in wonderful operating condition, have replaced if there are any interested parties, make offer - other than transaxle the vehicle is in very good working order replacing the transaxle or using as parts car would get you a solid vehicle for not much money
Do you know the info codes, meaning the 3 digit codes after the P0xxx that Techstream reports? Just curious as this is what points to the bad component.
No, that's not what I meant the dealer scan tool will give you three digits after the code, that only it can read, to further narrow it down iPhone ?
