Depends on how much you like cleaning your car - black shows every mark, white or blizzard so much easier. Black looks stunning when absolutely clean and polished, the rest of the time ...

It's also worth considering the visibility - black can so easily be camouflaged into the background, lighter colours much less so.

And, black absorbs much more heat, making the car hotter if that's a consideration.

I have the charcoal grey - love it but it does have a rock chip and scratch already. To be honest if I did it again I would strongly debate the white.

    Blizzard Pearl.
White is the most visible vehicle color at a distance. lack can tend to blend into the background.
Black cars collect heat so it is like driving in an oven.
Both colors tend to show dust & dirt.

Silver? If it's the same setup as 3rd gen (paint code: IF7 (Classic Silver Metallic)), one touch up pen can do body touchup, and curb rash on the rims. It's good for not showing the dirt, and there's not extra charge for that colour IIRC. Also fairly ubiquitous, easy to find, likely to be in stock.

Silver tends to lend in with the sky from a distance, especially on an overcast day.

Color should be a personal choice. If you want a committee to choose a color for you, just remember that the internet chose to name a boat Boaty McBoatface.

While I'm not typically a fan of red cars, I bought my Prius in red. Love at first sight.

I too purchased the hypersonic red. However, if you are only considering black versus white, go with the white. I see that you are from Los Angeles. I have owned white and black cars and the white is so much cooler in the hot sun.

I recommend サーモテクトライムグリーン (= Thermo-Tect Lime Green) (6W7, Japan only); export-import formalities and RHD-to-LHD conversion are left as an exercise for the reader.

I had to settle for Blizzard Pearl (070), which is noticeably not a true white. The fourth-generation Prius in Super White (040) is, sadly, available in the U.S. only to fleet customers and through Servco in Hawaii.

I have the black interior appliqués, but there is still a good deal of white trim inside on the streering wheel, Qi charging pad and cup holders.

That white trim seems perfectly matched on a blizzard pearl car -- not so much on other colors.

That said, if you don't have fog lights, the black plugs seem perfect on a black Gen 4 as they blend right in.

I'd love Thermo-Tect Lime Green - but, as you say, Japan only. I haven't even seen a RED one - and they've been out over 12 months here.

Or come to Australia - where FOG LIGHTS are on all models - another regional oddity.

If they choose Trim Two, the console is matte black. Still white around the shifter, though.

Gen 4 has been out over 12 months here and I have only seen 2 or 3, excluding mine & any on the dealer's lot.

.. erm, don't think so. Certainly not in areas where precipitation from the skies is a regular occurrence. ;)

I bought a white one, but I always buy white cars and trucks. I had a black car (early VW GTi) once and by the time I sold it there were key scratches on all the major surfaces. Something about black paint says "Vandalize Me", or that's been my experience. White stays cooler in the sun and is easier to see. Doesn't show as much dirt and scratches, swirl marks really not visible that much. I just like it a lot better.

The absolute easiest to keep clean was my last car, a pale silver. It didn't look dirty ever - only problem was getting motivated to wash it, I'd chamois the windows every few weeks, but the rest - "next time". But I went white this time, my next choice (and I've had more white cars than the rest together) - because that's all they had available.

My brother bought a Black Golf GTI - when he went to sell it 3yrs old, it took him many days of hard work to get the paint looking good - ended up clay-bar detailing which was very time consuming. At the end, it nearly looked as good as my pale grey car which I had just washed.

I have the midnight black pearl like in my profile pic. I love the color when it's clean. If you like the lines of the new Prius, you'll want the blizzard because white shows the shadows and lines on the car. The black also shows the lines surprisingly well.

The black has these beautiful blue flecks in the paint and they look great when the car is clean. The black is hard to keep clean obviously, but it still looks OK when it's dirty. I'm not a fan of the white much on the Prius, but I like it on the Avalon.

Also, the Moonstone looks really good with the black exterior, but I think they stopped that combo for 2017.

    I attached some pics.
