So I stopped in at the local Ford dealership to pick up a part for my son's 2013 Fusion Energi... saw a leftover new 2015 Fusion Energi Titanium... 5 hours later, traded in the 107+ thousand mile, slightly ratty Prius Plug-in 'cause the dealer made me a damn fine offer to get rid of his leftover Fusion Energi... happy happy camper at a fine price of $30,300 + tax etc, and a dealer install of a free Ford engine block heater :) he hee ...with the Federal tax credit of $4007 to sweeten my upcoming income tax season, this brings the price down to a cool $26,300 plus tax etc.

My deep regards to all the Prius Chatters here over the years and thank you all for your contributions to my plug-in knowledge.

...and a Happy 2017 to all!

P.S my son the Hedgehog of posts past is exstatic that "Dad finally saw the light".

Unlike the titanium level Fusion, adaptive cruise wasn't available option back in 2013 on CMax Energi. Does yours include ACC? That's the only option I wish I had on my car.

    Happy motoring DoH!
I am thinking your County gives a modest annual car tax break for green cars, so you are good.
If I am not mistaken the Energi had a helluva Dec sales in our sales thread, so maybe they were trying hard.
But you could have had a Prime, right?

I had not heard of green car tax breaks in Virginia. Is this just for certain counties in the DC area?

As far as I know, today Arlington is the only Virginia "locality" still with a green car tax break. It is reasonable, not huge break.
If you go back 10 years or so, some of the areas out on I-66 west past Fairfax had substantial breaks.

Arlington for a non-green car you're talking 5% annual tax with 30% relief on the value under $20000. I think green cars get 50% relief on the under $20k value, if I recall.

I've got one......as my "highway" car and just love it.

Your gas mileage probably won't be as good as what the sticker says.......OR as good as the Prius was.

IIRC, I get around 35 (calculated, not what the display shows).

Well I suppose we may not hear from DadofHedgehog now over to Ford..
If you're in our area, you want to try some bigger dealers such as Koons Tysons or Jack Taylors Alexandria, or Fitz Auto Mall.
Given it was a while back, DoH car may have been sold already...gotta guess

"How can I buy your PIP Advanced? What dealer?" is the full quote. But I found better PIP Advanced with fewer miles and not "ratty"

    WJTracy,

Frankly, this wasn't planned... it just happened. I wanted to keep the PiP for another couple of years. However, IMHO the new Gen IV Priuses are so goshdarnawful ugly, I am certain I would have never bought one. ..what were they thinking?

Otter than my Northern Virginia - Louisville Kentucky trips to see my son the Hedgehog and drink his bourbon, the Ford Fusion Energi is very very economical for me... I literally never turn the engine on if I go straight between home and work, and back. The 7.6 kWh traction battery is perfect for me in that aspect. On the weekends, since I have the Leviton 240 V charger, I also use not much gas. Since I came back from Kentucky with the Energi in the 2d week of January, I added 2,300+ miles and only used four 12-gallon fuel tanks.

Now, on the open highway at 80, yes the MPGs are in the high 30s... oh well.

It is also a much more comfortable car, and I only realized it by living with it for a while. It is less tiring.
