Greetings all, I recently decided to put in an Infinity Basslink subwoofer I had from my previous car. Anyway, I thought about just paying someone to do it. After hearing "It will cost you $120 bucks!", "I'll have to rip your dash out", "It will be expensive because of the high voltage!" and numerous other BS, I decided to block out 2 hours to do it. I downloaded and read the speaker replacement guide by Sparky. I then pulled the door panels to validate the colors of the speaker wires. Forunately, its possible to tap the rear speakers by pulling the trip in the driver and passenger side door jams. I used a multimeter to verify the wires in the harness. Fortunately, the speakers (Red/White on passenger side, and Black/Yellow on drivers side) are the only wires wound around each other in the harness and are relatively easy to pick out. I tapped both sides with some 3m wire taps for the correct gauge wire and voila! The battery and ground connections are even easier. Don't get buffalo'd into paying someone to do this. Cheers!

How does it sound? I have a basslink sitting in my basement from a previous vehicle where it was installed in the trunk. Is the sound worth giving up the space in the hatchback? I assume you floor mounted it in the hatchback area. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(simple_in_seattle @ Jan 15 2006, 11:54 PM) </div>
When purchasing my amp and sub's I also considered an infinity basslink 2 all-in-one combo. I'm by no means an expert but when I heard the system (i eventually got) compared to the basslink...I definitely felt/heard the difference. But i guess it's up to individual taste. boOm BoOm
Can you elaborate? What does "pulling the trip..." mean? What does "verify the wires in the harness" mean? Where are the battery and ground connection placements you used? ANY PICTURES??? TY! -Chris
