As far as I know, all Verizon phones with Bluetooth will work. I have a Motorola, but don't know what exact model (but it is brand new and not the razor). Works fine, except with Verizon you can transfer your contacts via bluetooth.

My e815 works fine, except for the lack of being able to tranfer the phonebook. With the 2006 you can enter them one at a time. I don't mind too much as 95% of the calls I make are easily handled by the one-touch screen and 4.99% are set up as POIs in the NAV area (since I have a 2005 I have the NAV defeat). I took care of the remaining .01% by cutting a speed sensor wire and adding a switch.

My RAZR works just fine. By the way Bluetooth is Bluetooth. Make no difference what carrier you have

I can verify the Razr works. Wasn't able to get the phone book to download, but aside from that, no problems.

Oh, yes it does. Verizon is notorious for disabling the OBEX function of its Bluetooth phones. That is the reason most Verizon subscribers are unable to upload their contact list from the phone to the car's handsfree system.

I spent an hour at the Verizon dealer trying to get a Razr to work with my '04 Prius. The phone would pair but I could never successfully make or receive a hands-free call (from the steering wheel button or from the MFD). Is there a step-by-step set of instructions, or someone in the Chicago area with a Verizon Razr that's willing to demo it for me so I can take notes?

    Thanks,

    Barbara

I was mostly right. For all but the RAZR phones, it does make a difference who your carrier is and it did make a difference even for the RAZR until Verizon finally succumbed to customer pressure and enabled the OBEX on it on April 18 for those customers who bothered to have the firmware updated.

You mean you think you were right. The update is for the older v3c and the latest v3m IS enabled so where are we going with this?

*The Silver RAZR V3m supports the following Bluetooth Profiles: headset, handsfree, serial port and dial up networking. It does not support Bluetooth object transfer (OBEX) profiles. Accessories sold separately. See Bluetooth for details.

    From verizon website.

In fact if you go to verizon wireless, do a search on OBEX you'll see support on 13 handsets All the generation two Bluetooth either supports or is able to be updated

Not quite. The author of that article has now posted an update:

OBEX is one thing. OOP would be nice too. I have OBEX enabled in my e815, but it needs the OOP for the phonebook.

It seems the same people are going around the same conversation on differnet threads.
OPP (Object Push Profile) on the Verizon V3m is disabled at Verizon's request to Motorola. Motorola has no firmware update I can find, and I'm still looking for Verizon's update. As of one month ago, Verizon and Motorola told me it is disabled.

You can do a seem edit to renable the OBEX but the feature that pushes the phonebook is OPP and no one has found the seem for that (at least for the motorola E815)

    This is so very wrong.

BTW, that Razr is a really, really really bad phone. And the new media one is no better for Verizon.

    Get the 815.

    Please?

And it's gonna stay that way. Boo Verizon! (Boo Sprint too, if the Katana is the only fully BT functional phone)

Verizon 6700 ( PocketPC, Phone) works witht eh Prius- transfers phone numbers one at a time. My Verizon Motorola v710 and e815 will work but not transfer phone book as stated before.

How did you get it to work? I have a 6700 and ran into the following problem.

I followed the steps in the Navigation Systems Owner's manual. When I was prompted to send the phone book from the phone I went to the specific contact in the 6700 and used the beam function from the menu. It searched for and found the BlueTooth connection. I tapped on it and the transfer appeared to go OK. When I looked at the entry in the phone book, the name was there, but instead of a phone number there were just vertical bars. :( I thought perhaps it was some sort of a security feature and tried dialing the number, but nothing happened.

Also, are you able to see signal strength? Perhaps there is some hack I need to do?

The Sony Ericsson T68i (used by T-Mobile and Cingular) is an older BT that will send the entire phonebook at once. You can get a used one on eBay. It will need a SIM card, but not activation. Put your phonebook in there and use that phone to send the phonebook to the Prius. After you're done, re-establish your connection with your Verizon phone (mine is an e815). I did that last weekend and it worked fine.
