all One of my FOB partially stopped working, so I can't use all 3 keys on it. at the same time my Prius senses it, I can start car when I have it (either inserted or in pocket). I still can lock car by pushing outside key on door handle, I still can open trunk on closed car. So I think problem isolated just to those keys operations, something got broken. I read all horror stories about getting new one, so maybe somebody can share his/her knowledge how to fix or replace maybe some part of fob circuit. I still have second FOB key which works OK ** and surely enough all tested on new battery. Thanks all mario
Smart key functions still work, but the lock, unlock, and panic buttons on the fob do not work? I believe the smart key functionality is controlled by a separate small black box that is inside the key and does not require a battery to work. Someone correct me if I am wrong... If the above is true, then most likely the circuit board inside your fob has failed, as it is not required for Smart key functionality.
There's a stuck button. 1 of the 3 buttons on there is stuck, use a sharp exacto knife and prey it free
If you are certain there are no stuck keys and you've tried a new battery, then you have something wrong with your FOB
yes, I thought I can change just some piece of fob , it's transmitter part, and keep all crypt stuff as is. @JC, you prius history is very impressive!!! 2015 Prius Plug in base 2015 Prius Two 2010 Prius V 2008 Prius II 2006 Prius III 2005 Prius V
bisco, I have a similar problem with a lock button that does not register. Any tips on what to look for on the circuit board and switches? The previous owner broke the rubber button cover so the lock button switch and a portion of the top circuit board is exposed (probably what caused the issue in the first place) Thanks
