    It's a shame this C-HR almost gets a 2Gen Prius-like MPG.
Seems to me it will sell very well, but the world of emissions will rather loose the 10 years advantage in technique... :(

As per today, 22 registered C-HR 1.8 HSD in Spritmonitor, averaging about 5.4l/100km (4.5-6.3)

    Verbrauch: Toyota - C-HR - Spritmonitor.de

    (43.2MPG)

Still better than the RAV4 Hybrid. Although the RAV4 is larger and more luxurious. 5.4L/100km isn't bad considering it's still beats the compact car in North America (C-segment)

My C-HR uses less fuel then my former Prius Plus/Wagon. Not much, but still.

I wouldn't give both cars as example. RAV4 is a 190hp car, and Prius + a 7seat MPV with loads of room...
IMHO the C-HR is the current case study of how "fat" the car market have become, just like humans in western civilization. SUVs/CUVs always consume more than the "elegant" precedessors. Even with the upmost eficient powertrain, this C-HR struggles to beat the iconic 2003 Prius.
