Internal led replacement

Whoops...my bad.

 

I just went ahead and started swapping out my LEDs in the vehicle. So far I've tackled the door accent lights and the trunk light, all easy enough.

 

I used these lights from Amazon for the trunk, door accent lights, and map lights.

I am going to pull the trigger on a different set of similar lights on Amazon to try an even higher output from the trunk which is always a poorly lit area. I have also ordered a new dome light with LEDs. I will report back how successful I am. Maybe some pictures too.

Also, has anyone tried swapping out the LEDs for the footwell lighting? I would love for that to be a white color to match, or maybe a blue to match the accents in the Prime.

 

Got rid of the dim yellow incandesces and picked up a package of Yorkim LEDs from Amazon.

Used T-10 LED, #168 cross reference LED for the (2) center map lights, (2) vanity mirror lights, (2) door panel lights, and (1) trunk/cargo light. You need (1) DE3275 LED for the back seat dome light.

For install instructions, you can search YouTube, “Toyota Prius LED Interior How To Install - 4th Gen 2016+” and pick up a set of LEDs from PrecisionLED.

Cheap, nice quality, and a breeze to install. Map lights were the most difficult, but searched youtube for a how to, and once I knew the process, cake.

 

Thanks guys. Swapped out all the interior lights to LED. Nice looking little mod. Cheap too... I'll check them tonight especially the door lights.

The map lights took me the longest. But it's actuallly easier than that YouTube video shows, but it's still scary to finally work loose.

Man those little halogens got hot! The LEDs are also much cooler.

I left the footwell lights alone. I don't know where they are hidden.

 

Can you please provide me the exact LED Part # for the back seat dome light? I am unable to find DE3275 on Amazon or eBay. Thanks.

 

Which bulbs did you end up getting? I'm highly interested in swapping my bulbs out to LEDs too so appreciate the feedback. Keep it coming.

Yup, they're the ones I got. Now to find time to put them in.

 

When I went to the ebay site it said it wasn't compatible with the 2017 Prius Prime. I sent an email to the seller but no reply yet. Think there is any significant difference in lighting between Prime and the other models?

 

To answer my own question. Just received a reply from the seller and he states they will work for the Prime. Just placed my order.

 

Can someone give me a link or specification to buy the Rear passenger dome LED bulb? I already ordered the other LED bulbs from eBay to replace the map light bulbs, the vanity bulbs and the door bulbs. But struggling to find the right dome bulb for the rear passenger seats. Also, I notice that the License plate bulbs are already white LED lights. Do I need to replace these too?

Thanks "Alexcue" and "Prius from Dad." 3 of out of 4 DE3175 say "Oversize" but luckily only one says "Oversize=No." It is just plain old LED and not the SMD LED. Oh well. I am putting the link here so that others can benefit too:

It fit, but once I had it in, I had to bend the flexible tab a little for it to stay.

did this one fit? I ordered a set off eBay and all fit except the map light was too big, it fits but is stretching in the fixture contacts a bit. Would prefer a better fitting bulb. Thanks in advance.

 

Went to the superbrightled website.
They're suggestion two different options.
One is just regular leds, the other is "canbus" which they said may be needed in newer cars.
Does it matter for the Prius Prime?
