Hey there guys, I'm checking out a 2005 Prius with 143k miles on it. It was apparently a florida car and my main question for the community is whether or not 143,000 miles is significant for a prius of this generation. I just thought I'd check in and get your input before making an offer.

Here is the link to the vehicle:

I'm not too worried about the dents in the front right ;) the car has a clean title so these dents really just act to lower the price for me as I'm not too interested in style points.

    Thanks!

how long do you plan to keep it, years/miles, how much can you afford per year in repairs?

I plan to keep it until 250,000 miles and maybe 3 or 4 years or obviously as long as it would probably run. This would be a second car used for commuting to work and longer trips to keep miles off of my sports car to be honest.

I'd be willing to pay about 1000/yr to keep it running.

that should work. just keep in mind there's always the small chance that something quite expensive could go.

Yeah, absolutely. But that's a risk we all take with used vehicles. Thank you for your input, disco. Good night!

Looks like it might be a fair price for that one. As Bisco said, there is always a certain amount of risk. I think I'd try to get the price down a little, but that's actually pretty close to prices here.
