that's exactly how the pip works. maybe you'll have to leave it overnight.

 

agreed, you don't want to wait until next winter, when the warranty may not cover it.

 

Just a longshot - are you driving in "B" position and not "D"?

 

I've tried driving around in "B" in town and on freeway and it's not caused my prime to fire up the ol ICE

I think it can, in the first few miles after full charge, when you let-off the pedal.

 

I just remembered something, I think I saw something about a battery heater in the menu somewhere when I was playing around with it. I remember turning it on. Also I believe I saw something for AC for the battery also. Perhaps get lucky and it's something that easy, if you haven't already done so. If you have, it sure sounds like the battery heater not working... Leaving plugged in over night too?

Hmmm ya know, that may make since. I think I've read that if battery is full and using B can cause the ice to fire and use engine brake because batt is full.

You would think that would be a default setting.

 

I know right, plus I also just realized that still may not be the problem. My car sits outside all day at work, not plugged in and it still stays EV only.. hmm

not plugged in maybe better. a full battery doesn't like any regen when it's cold.

 

Anybody else having this same problem in cold weather?

 

it's not the cold, it's the 'charging outside overnight'.
