Yes, I have been sweeping out the garage, making a good spot to charge from, looking at floor mats, and just smiling a lot.
My first order of business was getting the weathertech front/rear from their factory store in Bolingbrook IL, 192$ after tax.... The are also OEM ones with the leaf and prius prime on them but I've had weather techs before on my mazda and am a huge fan Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
I had signed up for them to email me when Prime stuff came available. They must use the same email service Toyota does.
Well, as of today (2-26-17), I have my emblem for the back of the Prime, fix up the garage so the charging cord can do its thing properly (put a stand next to the plug so that box thing on the cord can rest on it), and ordered all weather floor mats with the Prius Prime logo on them. Now I just need the car to go with them. Think I am on a 9 day count down (if lucky).
Hey all, just want to post my wive's experience here. She put down a deposit and placed an order for a Prime Advanced in Chicago on Jan 7th and was told "up to 12 weeks, hopefully more like 6." After seeing the car in person at the car show and not hearing any update I called down there and spoke with the ordering manager. He told me it'd likely be at least another 8 weeks, probably more like another 12-16. My wife *really* needs a new car now that she's working again and the Prime is her first choice by a long ways. She's commuting with the 2002 neon she bought new and it's falling apart - A few weeks ago it threw a belt and I had to replace an idler pulley (huge pain - had to lift the engine halfway out) and the other day the thermostat got stuck and I ended up draining half the coolant to change it. So we were desperate to get this purchase done with and a bit pissed. A lot of searching turned up a dealership in Princeton NJ that had *14* primes - 8 of them Advanced. They even had her first choice in color (titanium glow). So this weekend, I bought her a one-way ticket with airline miles and she went there and picked it up and drove it back. It turned out they had no problem doing an out of state purchase with a personal check for down payment and were even able to collect IL tax and submit the IL registration for her. So if you've got a free weekend and can find a cheap plane ticket, it seems these things are plentiful in the northeast. And in particular, check out Team Toyota of Princeton
Glad it worked out for her. I think she will really like the ride. Might be interesting to contact the dealer who told you 12 to 18 weeks and tell them to forget it and tell them what you did. They need to know the links we will go for this car. P.S. - remember to post when you decide to take the car for yourself and give her your hand- me- down.
Found my Prime at Fitzgerald Toyota in Gaithersburg Maryland the salesman's name is Serge. You can find what you're looking for in a good pricing Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
They would not deal . Got mine for 1,451 below MSRP out the door. Looking forward to the road trip back to Lincoln with my new "Pearl" Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Huskers, what date did you order your Prime? I ordered one earlier this month and the wait is excruciating... Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
Advanced, sliver, black. It also will have carpet floor mats/cargo mat, door edge guards, and illuminated door sills.
This is my 5th time around waiting for a new Prius rollout. Read through that history for some perspective and give you something to do in the meantime... John's Stuff - Toyota Prius Personal Log 1
