Best will be to get true wheels.... That is now on many cars sold this day's..people just like to make cars the way they like Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
The wheels under the wheel covers are pretty nice. I think the wheel covers are added for less wind resistance.
Most aftermarket wheel covers are made for steel wheels, so they don't fit the proprietary rim of the Toyota alloy wheels.
I believe that my 2015 PiP has wheels without covers. Perhaps they did that for simpler production so the Prime wheels are the same as Gen 4? Maybe the reason has to due with resistance as White 17 suggested?
No but if someone does I may buy one or two wheel covers off them. Tight spot charging and got too close to curb on day two. Ouch... well I got that first damage issue over with right away
