Thank you but the sound you're describing is something different than what I'm talking about.

I also have this dreaded click. Same exact behavior, press to the left and it clicks every time even when car is not on. You're probably right that it's something metal to metal. I'll need to assess a bit more and see if there's to dampen it. Thanks for posting and starting this thread.

I'm wondering if this is where the clicking is occuring.

    It's possible that's the spot.

First post, I came here because I am having the same click. It's not the brake light switch. Keymusic can you tell me what to bend, I'm willing to go that far as I can not stand it anymore.

Sorry but I don't really know exactly what I did. I describe it the best in this post Brake Pedal Click | Page 2 | PriusChat

Keymusic, I'm assuming your click is still gone? Do you remember where you stuck the screwdriver on that bracket/pin/bolt (thanks for the pictures), and where you relived the pressure? Going to try and fix it tomorrow morning.

Surprisingly the click is still gone. I'm sorry but I really don't know what did the trick. I just put a flat head screwdriver everywhere it would fit between things and tried to basically stretch things. I didn't test it after each place I tweaked. It just no longer had the click after I had messed with everything. I didn't do it in a very methodical way, which I normally would, unfortunately.

The1lobster hope you're able to solve it. My click is still there and probably getting worse, clicks when pressing and clicks depressing. I haven't had time to muck around with it.

    Hello keymusic,
Thank you for your post. I just bought a 2017 Prius Touring 3. My second Prius. My first was 2008. 6 days later, after driving 200 miles, I started hearing the click!!! Took back it to the dealer. Service tech said something in the brake pedal assembly needed to be replaced. Good thing I mentioned it. I originally took my Prius back because the front passenger speaker was not working -- had a static sound. That is getting replaced. Will keep you posted.

Wow, can you please post exactly what they did so I can tell my dealer? Thanks

Sometimes you get a work order from the dealer that shows the part that was ordered before the work is done.

Just looked up my work order online. It says "Install Parking Brake Clip". I will post details when I get my Prius back. Stay tuned.

The "Install Parking Brake Clip" is the safety recall to do with the hand(foot)brake.

Yes, u are correct. I just looked logged onto my dealer's website for my Prius and it indicates that there is a recall. I guess that is being done to my Prius in addition to the other issues. That probably explains why the speaker and "clicking" issues are not displayed on the website -- they have not been fixed yet. I will update when I get my Prius back. Thanks!
