for iPhone users, in iOS10 there is a feature where iOS will automatically detect when you are connected via bluetooth to your car and will keep track of where you parked. This worked beautifully on my Gen 3 Prius but so far it is not working on with my Prius Prime. I'm wondering if this has something to do with the device name for the car? it's now "toyota prius" instead of "car multimedia". Anyone manage to get this to work or is this something Apple needs to address on their end?
yeah I'm wondering if the trick is to make sure the name has the word "car" in it. I'll give it a shot
small update just in case anyone else was running into this issue. changing the bluetooth name of the prius to include the word car does in fact work.
Hey Ice how do you get this to work? Is there some sort of setting. I'm so confused! This would be a nice feature to know where you parked. I have an iphone as well.
on your car go to menu > settings > bluetooth > system settings (I think?) may have to scroll down but system name is there. you may have to remove and re-pair your phone for the phone to see the new name to make sure its enabled on your phone: How to use or enable/disable Parked Car alerts from Maps on iOS 10 for iPhone | 9to5Mac
