Fan noise much too loud

    Is anyone else experiencing loud fan noise? I've had my premium for a month and noticed fan noise from the first drive. I justified it based on the fact that in full electric mode things are so quiet any noise seems more pronounced. Well, the fan noise has gotten worse and become a lot more noticeable in the past week and I think it may have been louder than it should have from the beginning. It typically runs in EV mode but not all the time.
    I hate the thought of having to go to the dealer but that's probably my only option at this point. Thoughts?

    What sorts of unexpected noise are you hearing? Air blowing sounds? Motor-grinding? Rattling?

    Only once, temporarily. I had accidentally obstructed the charger ventilation port located below the rear console near the floor.

    doesn't sound right to me. i hate to say it, because i hate going to the dealer as well. especially for a noise they'll probably tell you is normal.

    on our test drive, i never heard the fan, but we didn't get as much ev as i would have liked, and it was about 40 degrees out.

    for what it's worth, i've never heard the fan in any pri, but i'm half deaf.

    I had loud fan noise, too.
    When I went to the dealer they discovered a mouse had taken leaves into the fan area.
    Cleaned it out, and the noise is gone.
    Under $100 repair.

    Are you talking about the Heating/Cooling fan for the cabin? If so, is it set in RECIRC Mode as opposed to receiving outside air. or do you by chance have a vent or 2 that are closed?

    Also it might be you have a ventilation door that is out of alignment, which means a trip to the dealer anyway.

    You may also want to see if the S-FLOW mode is set, which redirects most of the air to the drivers area

    Yeah maybe clarify: which fan? At least, where does the sound seem to be coming from? Dash? Engine bay? Rear of car?

    Just checking: You're referring to the battery cooling fan, or the cabin ventilation fan?

    It is a brand new car.
    That is what your warranty IS FOR.
    The dealer is also responsible for explaining things like this that might turn out to be "normal" for that model but unusual in general.
    TAKE IT IN.....SOON.....just incase there is something wrong that will get worse.
