I'm looking at purchasing a 2010 Prius. I don't know what trim level is but I think its a V or IV, not five or four since it is a 2010, based on the upgrades it has. I'm trying to figure out if the interior is leather or SofTec material. Toyota's website (2010 Prius Press Release) lists the four and five as having "leather-trimmed interior", but the seller is claiming it is a fake leather (possibly SofTec) material. Can anyone clarify this for me? Did the 2010 model some with a SofTec option? Thanks!
I own a 2011 Four and I believe my seats are leather. The Five had all the acoutrements of the Four but also had different headlights, fog lights and 17 inch wheels with different alloys. You should be quite pleased with either. Posted via the PriusChat mobile app.
The 2010 (and 2011) Prius had leather interior. They were perforated (so that's how you can tell, aside from actually touching the seat). SofTex upholstery is not perforated at this time. (and was available from 2012 onward). The items that the V has over the IV include LED lowbeam headlights Headlight washers 17" alloys (5-spoke design) Foglights Check here for more info: 3G Prius (2010-2015) Standard and Optional Equipment (Some Countries) | PriusChat. Note that it's obviously not a full leather seating (It's not a Bentley or Rolls-Royce). Only the seat surfaces are leather. The back and sides are synthetic or vinyl. The door trim is vinyl too but the steering wheel is leather wrapped.
The headlight washers are oblong bits on the bumper, an inch or two below headlights. Look like this:
You just wanted to show off your nice clear lenses and make some of us 2010 owners with a fogging problem jealous.
Yeah, north of 49th parallel, low mileage, garage stored. It's sad what happens to these pricey sculptures, parked in the sun day after relentless day.
