I wanted more up-to-date car reliability information that made the differences between cars clearer. So a decade ago I started getting people together to make this possible. TrueDelta now updates actual repair frequencies, not just dots, four times a year, to track cars closely as they age. Thanks partly to the support of this forum (for which I'm very grateful), we've been providing stats on the Gen 2 and Gen 3 Prius for quite a while. I'd like to do the same for the Gen 4. Just a matter of getting enough owners involved. Participants report repairs the month after they occur on a one-page survey. When there are no repairs, they simply report an approximate odometer reading four times a year, following the end of each quarter. To encourage participation, participants receive full access to all results, not just those for the Macan, for free. I'll share results for the Macan in this thread after each update. We've updated our reliability stats for the Prius to include owner experiences through June 30, 2016. Reliability information elsewhere is based on a survey conducted in April 2015--well over a year ago. During this time period no completed repairs were reported for the 2016 Prius, with 16 owners participating. Can't get better than this. This is a small sample size, and I do hope we have more owners participating in future rounds. We've updated our reliability stats for the Prius to include owner experiences through September 30, 2016. Repair frequencies, in terms of repair trips per 100 cars per year (lower is better): 2016 Prius: 10, low Additional participants always helpful. That's a big drop: And from there to present it hasn't recovered much. Something bad happened? Roughly how many cars in each year's sample?
