"Take a rest" notification

I thought it keep track of your LDA and if it seems like your swerving more than you were for a bit of time, it will suggest that

 

I tend to stay on the right side of the lane and the car tells me to rest, often, so I tend to turn off the lane departure warning device

 

In the YouTube videos, I remember seeing a coffee-cup icon to tell you that you're weaving. I don't remember them mentioning any word message associated with that.

Is this with your '12 model C ??
I didn't think that the C had the electronics to do that, at least not back then.
My C-3 certainly does NOT.

No doubt it is the "lane departure" feature that's doing it.
It "thinks" that you are turning the wheel too often.........or not often enough (as is starting to doze off).

 

I suspect there is a clock involved too.

Can you just say, "no" to it?

 

For me, 100% of the time it happens when I am in a curvy road or I don't bother to signal when I change lanes. Bad habit and all.

 

It is a result of the Lane Swaying tracking. You can find that setting under Vehicle Settings on the Multi-Info Display on the dashboard.

You can turn it Off/On. By default it is Enabled. If you are constantly swaying from left to right and back and forth, as alerted by Lane Departure Alert, it will be triggered. It is not speed dependent.

It is a separate setting you can control aside from LDA but I don't know if it depends on the LDA for this warning or it is always monitoring the swaying movements. I am guess it is tied to LDA. If you turn off LDA from the steering wheel (next to the cruise control distance setting) or the vehicle settings, I am guessing it probably will not trigger swaying alert.

I guess I will have to test it a bit and see if I can reproduce it again and record another video.

 

Won't Cadilacs buzz your seat if they think you are getting sleepy, or is that an obstruction alert while backing up?
