Just checked with the dealer in Kankakee, IL....

Know anything about the Prius Prime? Will you be getting any?
"We will be getting a few soon, very soon"
Really, how soon, in the next few weeks?
"3 months."

So according to them, they're coming...

 

"Soon" to these guys is a strange concept.

 

MNdriver, we need to cancel the support group for Fly Over States for today. I am getting lots of ice here right now. Put the cookies in the freezer. We can use them at the next meeting.

 

Huskers, good call on canceling the support group meeting. I've been watching scenes of your weather on the TV news. Yikes! Broomball on wheels.

I have call them and yes 3 Prius Prime will be coming from East coast to Baxter
They will have another markup 1000$....

 

Do you know if all 3 have been spoken for? I am currently working with Corwin Toyota in Belleview, Ne. Suppose to have my Prime here in early March. I looked at Baxter but Corwin was much closer to me.

 

One is booked already.....2 still available....as of today....and my 2nd prime is on the ship should arrive to west coast by end of the month....and at Baxter 2nd week in March

http://cargurus.com/ is helpful for searching. But then call to check because most are sold before they hit the dealer's lot.

 

We ordered a Prime from a dealer in Milwaukee (Wilde) at the end of November. One incentive to order there vs getting on a local waiting list was the claim they could get one in 2 months. So much for wishful thinking. No news from calls until 7 weeks when a manager said, they learned after our order that they could not get them until at least April. Our salesman did not get the word/ failed to call us.

But good news ! - Thanks to all the experiences related by Prius Chat members about buying from Dianne Whitmire we checked Carson's stock and found the exact model we wanted ! It's been a pleasant and smooth process making the purchase through Dianne. We'll pick up our car - a red / black Premium - in early February and drive it back to Wisconsin! We had been wanting to go somewhere warmer for a time (second winter after retirement) and get to see some relatives and friends on the way back. Thanks to all on Prius Chat who have help made this an easy decision for us.

OK, lost my Prime virginity today. Got an email about 10:30am today. Baxter Toyota in Lincoln, NE said they had a Prime on site and wanted to know if I wanted to come see it. 2 hours later I was looking at my 1st ever Prime in the flesh (or metal). Red exterior/black interior/Advanced. Had special spokes, door guard, seal plates, and floor/cargo mats as extras. Beautiful car. Salesman said they had gotten a grey one in earlier for a customer and this one was not spoken for. I wanted a silver but red was my second choice and I could have bought it on the spot. But I had committed to another dealer who has mine scheduled to be made on Monday, arrive at port on Feb. 15th, and to the dealership by the 1st of March. I have also put down $1000 deposit and shook his hand. So I would not have been right to back out at this point. But I sure wanted to. I told him all this so not to waste his time. But he still took me for a spin. I could have driven it but I wanted to ride so I could look at all the stuff inside the car. It was a good day. He quickly realized I knew far more about the car then he did. He prob wished I would just shut up but I kept pointing things out to him. He did mention that it costs $1200 bucks to get it here from NY. The MSRP was listed on the window sticker $33, plus. Don't know how much they were asking. I did not ask.

He did say they could get cars easier than other dealerships in the Nebr area. If my deal with the dealership I am dealing with falls through again, I will be back on Baxter's doorstep.

It is a beautiful car.

 

Today (1-30-17) is suppose to be my car's birthday. I hope the Toyota workers are not too hungover from a long weekend.
