Steering warning on dash screen

    I was driving at 30mph this morning and spotted a split second steering logo warning sign on my dash.... then disappear.

    Has anyone seen this before?

    Pg 656 of 2016 Owner's Manual describes this:
    (Red/yellow) Steering Wheel with Exclamation Point
    Electric power steering system warning light (warning buzzer)
    Indicates a malfunction in the EPS (Electric Power Steering) system
    Have the vehicle inspected by your Toyota dealer immediately.​

    maybe just a bug, see if it happens again. i would think it would stay on if there's a problem.

    Look at the 'Slip indicator' light on page 655. We get that every day all winter long.

    Actually based on my memory, the error might be the following in pg 657 for LDA.
    Maybe the computer was thinking I was falling asleep in the car .. :)

    yoyo, were you driving with no hands or with your leg perhaps? and your car swayed from side to side a bit?

    One time I think my hands came off the wheel for a split second and I got a warning... Haven't seen it again.

    I haven't see this error again and will definitely inform my dealer at 5000 miles check.
