Does anyone know the location of fuse panel inside the Prime? The manual shows 3 different locations but the one shown in the attached picture is not there. Trying to hardwire a dashcam.
Not sure why you can't find the one inside. That "Left side instrument panel" as pictured is exactly in that location. You have to look from underneath and take the small cover off. It's above and to the left of the parking brake pedal. You have to pretty much lay on the floor to see it. The cover lists all the fuses and amps. I used a voltmeter and found the one marked "P.Outlet", which is a blue 15 amp fuse, is a 12V when the car is powered on. I used this one with a fuse tap to hard wire my radar detector. P.S.- I've got the Premium trim. Not sure what trim level you have and if the fuse layout is different.
Thanks Yoyoman for the quick response. I found it where you described. Is there a chance that adding a Thanks Yoyoman for the quick response. I found it where you described. I am curious if there's a possibility of voiding the warranty by adding a fuse tap to the fusebox. Is this the correct fuse tap. Thanks again.
I have added a dashcam and the power is directly plug-into the OBD. No need to tap a circuit. Very soon I'm going to tap a circuit for the internal blue led light but I do not know if Toyota will say anything. If any concern, I will just take it off before the 5000 mi service. Its easy to take it off anyway. iPhone ?
That fuse tap should work. I ended up using mini, but not the low profile one. The fuses are low profile, but I had the mini already from a previous hard wire rig. You might be able to just pick one up at your local auto parts store. I know they sell them at Autozone.
