    When the fusible link blows isn't the most likely victim going to be the inverter, not the traction battery?

    Is it for sure the hybrid battery, or could still just be blown fuse, due maybe to jump start? (n)

    I would tend to recommend Liftback for that many miles/day, but I was not expecting a longevity issue with c.

    Early c's didn't have jump point under hood. Owners need to jump or charge directly at the battery, under rear seat. Apparently not that easy either.

    I did look I that fuse box first. And was stumped when I didn't have that jump spot.

    Thanks for clarifying @Mendel Leisk . Wonder how that one slipped through the cracks at model release time:confused:.

    Definitely looks difficult and there is enough combustible materials around that if a spark were to fly during the connection process, it might make life a little more exciting :(.

    Also makes checking the 12v battery health more challenging.

    I ended up affixing it to the fuse box lid, thinking:

    1. It's primarily for me.
    2. Anyone else doing a jump start would as likely as not pop the hood, start looking for a battery.

    Definitely a good idea at a common point of use. Saves the hunt and peck through the owners manual when you are wanting to get going.

    I think (at least) one really important thing is to never:

    Connect both ends of either battery first, then be wandering around with the two clamps at the other end: touch them together and BAM!

    A lot of rules get dictated, and not enough the reasoning, logic. Story of my life, lol.

    Thanks to this site though, we get to see a lot of reasoning from the experienced folks:). That way us young bucks don't have to let history repeat itself;).

    $17 Fusable Link

    A ton of fuses replaced.
    Car now runs.
    No radio.
    No windows.
    No lights.

    They say that they now can do the rest of the Diag to trouble shoot the other issue.

    They are saying reversed polarity caused the link and fuses to blow.

    But the car is exactly the way I towed it to them, other than it's running.

    I had to give them the green light to run an additional Diag.

    I do not know what the root cause was. But after two diagnostics and done fuses, the car works fine.

    The battery tested good. Everything is now testing fine. I'm going to be a bit skeptical for a while.

    Thanks for all your support. Just glad it's not a 3k bill.
