I've seen a number of different tires mentioned as coming with the Prime. Which tires did yours come with? What are you using currently?

My Advanced model came with Bridgestone Ecopia EP422 Plus (edited)
Currently I have General Altimax Artic
I will go back to the Bridgestones in March.

Edit: I should mention that I bought my car in Maryland.

Toyo NanoEnergy on my prime advanced in SoCal. And the dealer was quite generous to deliver my car with 44lbs pressure in each tire!

I'm in Newark, DE. You can have them for $100 if you can pick them up.

Sounds great but I'm on the other coast. My other Prius will be needing new tires soon.

Also Dunlop Enasave 01 A/S on my Advanced. Happy with them so far (1 day) but would likely switch to Michelins when needed down the line if they remain highly rated (as they have for my last three vehicles, since 1999).

    The Toyos.

Why are you asking? They are all round, black, and equally prone to picking up a nail. We do not know yet if some will offer better wet braking or other important considerations. Tire life and fuel economy are not the highest on my list. Wet braking and safe wet road handling are tops for me. I run real snow tires in the winter, so an all-season tire on snow doesn't interest me.

I also bought mine and it had the Bridgestone Ecopia 422 Plus on it.

I would really like to know if anyone changed these out for something quieter?
I hear lots of thoughts about how much tires affect that road hum you hear in the cabin.
The car isn't particularly noisy, but when I spend over 3 hours a day in my car listening to audio books, I dream of a silent car.
Everyone says Michelin Premier A/S are really quiet, but I just wonder if its $500 to replace quiet.

I wouldn't bother. No tire is silent. And as they age they all get a bit noisier. So you'll always hear reports of: "I just got new <insert tire name here> and they are so much quieter".

A lot of people switching to Premier A/S have reported a drop in mpg. I'd love to hear that's no longer the case, because other than that it seems like a good pick.

Re: Toyo's. I have had some bad experiences with them on my GenIII. They were noisy from the get-go. Had 2 terrible flats with them, both unrepairable. If I made tight turns at low speed, the front tires lurched around like they were going to fold in on themselves. The wore out at 30K miles and were happily replaced with Ecopias on all four corners and I haven't been more pleased. No problems at all now.

Another out of state purchase issue...Mine came with the Dunlop Enasave which are not readily available in Arizona (car was purchased in Californa) as I found out when I discovered a flat tire in my day off. My local repair guys called to say it was not repairable and could not get the tire at all. Called another tire shop and they also had no access to this tire both suggested I cal the local dealer. Called the dealer, they got the tire but it took over a day to arrive and install. I previously had Ecopia's on my 2008 and will probably go back to them at my next flat tire. Anyone have any better suggestions for tires for hot, dry weather conditions?
