So, they're finally bringing the 2003 Japanese Touring Prius over to the USA? Talk about flash back. :) Too bad it's still missing the intelligent parking assist.

OK, so I had a chance to speak with my Regional Sales Manager today regarding the 07 Prius. In the Chicago Region I can start placing orders in Mid-July. They should start arriving in dealerships in the end of August or beginning of September.

I did also ask about being able to purchase the wheels seperate from the car. He didn't know anything about it. After our conversation, he looked at me and asked, "How do you know so much about the 2007 Prius?" I laughed!

"Placing orders" and actual delivery are two entirely different things.

There are no changes in color options for the upcoming 07MY Prius. I also received another update that they will begin switching 06MY Prius orders to 07MY Prius orders in July sometime. My guess is the end of the month. I will keep you posted as I get updates.

12th June is the supposed 2007 Initial order acceptance month (or date)

They'll start production in August and start delivering in October

Hmm.. I'm just looking here and noticed that the 07 Sienna is starting off late with production in Nov and first delivery some time in January 07.

I would like to see a leather power seat(s) option. I have no interest in anything else that's in the packages.

This looks new. At the bottom of the screen, you'll see a reverse camera HUD. It helps you park. I wonder if this will make it to the US?

After doing my allocation yesterday, I noticed that all of my unfilled Prius orders switched over to 2007 packages. If you have one on order, you might want to contact your dealer and see if yours was switched!

I surfed through the build book as well and found that they are only allocating about 9% of the Prius production to the "Touring Model". For example, this allocation is only going to yield 97 Prii to the Chicago Region. So that means only 7 or 8 cars will be the "Touring Model".

The Point Is: If you want a Touring Model be prepared to wait longer than normal to get it!

The other thing I picked up on is they were only available in 4 colors; Seaside Pearl, Silver Pine Mica, Black & Silver. Hopefully you didn't want another color outside of those 4!

Still no prices at this point, but I will keep my eyes open.

Yeah, about two weeks ago, just before I bought, I was arguing colors with a salesman at another dealer. I said I wanted Silver Pine Mica, he verifed that there was one on the lot he'd seen earlier. We looked it up in the '06 color table, found the code (06u9 maybe? or something like that) and when we went to see what he had in stock, we couldn't find any with that code. For awhile, he sat there looking confused and rifling around. After a few minutes, we discovered that all of the current and ordered vehicles had been switched to '07 codes. The '07 SPM is listed as 06u0. Or vice versa.. or something close. :) Then they tried to convince me that these WERE '07s..

I wonder if it's actually a very slightly different color? Or is it standard to switch every year?

Whoa, a hard drive for music? Very nice.

Also, what is the likelyhood of the 2007's new NAV features being able to be used in a 2006?
I know that map updates can be purchased on DVD, but would that just be the maps, or could it possibly include the newer 3D views, highway maps, and the such (assuming the infrastructures exist here in the US to support them)?

Could this possibly mean rear wheel disc brakes as an option in 2007?

It is a pity about the colors and no powered adjustable seating. I would trade in my 2004 for an interesting color (forest evergreen, copper, lemon yellow or lime green) and the adjustable seats. I guess it is just as well, I'm not quite ready to give up my Prius. Maybe by 2008, when I begin to think about it, my new model wish list will be fulfilled. Then, I can order the new one and it won't matter if I have to wait for six months - I'll still have the "old" one to drive. What a deal. I'm glad I found this site. I plan to check for new info regularly, waiting for the future Prius of my dreams.
