New car day... It took 14 weeks albeit that covered Christmas otherwise nearer 12 weeks from form fill to delivery. Only taken it for a quick spin as I am at work but a very good first impression. Old wheels on the right and obviously the new wheels.
Yay!! Glad to hear your pleased after the interminable waiting period. I've done about 2.5k on mine and it just seems to get better and better. Enjoy!
Difficult to be tactful here, but my suspicion is that your car was manufactured in 2016 rather than 2017.
Your point is? Currently, all 2017s outside a few in Japan were manufactured in 2016. The car may still be a model year 2017, at least in the US & Canada.
Technically we do, but our new model years (MYs) only occur when there is a facelift. E.g. in the UK the Gen 3 was designated MY2009 until the facelift in 2012, which was designated MY2012. The current Gen 4 is MY2016 until the next facelift. So we have no idea what minor changes, if any, have changed from year to year unless there's a facelift.
Congratulations Mine is due at the dealers around mid February ready for the new 17 plate.... 8 weeks and counting They have assured me that I will have the white console as I placed my order in mid October, just before they made the change to the black console which is what I want as I am one of the few who likes the white. I am doing the opposite to most and going from an EV to a Hybrid and I can't wait
Welcome to Prius Chat and the awful wait for your new car to arrive. There's plenty of useful stuff floating around on here with lots of wise ones, plus a little bit of digging bickering too. All friendly and healthy though!
Thank you for the warm welcome. I have been lurking around here for a while and absorbed quite a bit of information too. Looks to be a very informative forum
Did the UK change to the black console for all their Prius? Only the lower trim level in the US has the black console with white around the shifter & on the steering wheel. I much prefer the matte black console on my Prius. The car has too much glossy black trim, in my opinion.
It's the first time I have heard that they are switching to the black in the post above. Mine is white and whilst it's fine if the black cover was available for under a £100 I'd have it but can't find any sellers in the UK that I've seen.
If you place an order now for an Excel with the all black leather interior you get the black console (still white shifter & steering wheel), but if you chose the two tone black/grey interior you still get the white console. I tried to add some screen shots, but I can't as I have not done enough posts..... yet Ironically, my dealer said that since they have made the change people have suddenly said they prefer the white, so I not the only 'odd' one. Still won't believe it until I see it
I am coming from a Renault Zoe which is a fully electric EV. Its a great little car, but as its the main car in the household it is getting a bit restrictive if we want to go on long journey withought having to think and pre-plan a charging route. I have always wanted a Prius and as soon as I drove the Gen 4 I was sold
