There's no beep or flashing parking lights when I lock my doors on my 2011 Prius 2 when using the remote or the door handle sensor. I still get the 2 beeps/light flashes when I unlock. The lock beep was working fine and then just stopped. The doors still lock fine with the remote or handle sensor, just no beep/flash. Any ideas?
I believe on the 2010 this is a Customizable Feature. Any chance that you had the dealer change one of these features and they mistakenly disabled this feature ?
No, the last time they changed the features was several years ago when I had them turn off the beeping when in reverse. Door lock actuators have been replaced but that was months ago. Why would symptom appear now? Thanks for the reply.
Old thread.....yet my nine month old 2016v is having this same issue. Locking...locks but no longer indicates that it has locked with a single beep or head light flash. In-Locking...unlocks as normal/ usual with a double beep and head light flash. I use the smart electronic "pass" key only. Approaching the car and grab the door handle to unlock. Place finger tip on the door handle sensor to lock. Search shows many have had this issue, yet there is no solution posted.
Thanks. I will add this to my growing list of 2016 Prius "glitches" and keep an eye out for it. I went into the settings, and I disabled the lights flashing part, but I still hear the beep when locking or unlocking. Did you see that new thread someone started, about finding their Prius unlocked the next day? That has happened to me several times. I am positive I locked the car, I heard the locks slide forward and I heard the beep... But a few hours later, or the next morning, I go out to my car I find the drivers door unlocked!
Possibly resolved. Child lock on rear door was engaged. I found the passenger rear door child lock, black plastic switch on the rear inside sill of the door, switched to the lock/ engaged position Switched it to the open position. Car now beeps and flashes again when locking with the touch pad of the drivers front door handle.
I remember that user being banned. This request belongs in the Gen 4 forum anyway. There is a Customizations section in the manual that shows what can be changed and where. They note what changes require a dealer. I am not able to paste a quote right now.
Came across this thread because I just encountered this problem last night. It got me to check the child safety, which was I noticed one of the rear does didn't unlock. I hit the unlock button, but no luck. I figured maybe the actuator was faulty, but it was just in between lock/unlock. When I moved it back into a solid position, the beep came back. Hope this helps someone.
