Well, I've just watched Sydney's famous fireworks, and now, with my wild and crazy lifestyle, I'm going to bed. (I watched the fireworks from our bedroom, so it's not a challenge to go straight to bed afterwards.) But first, greetings from 2017. So far, it doesn't seem anything like as bad as everyone predicted. But we are only half an hour into it. I hope you all have a wonderful 2017. All the best to you and your families.
Thanks hyo, happy new year to you too. Love the signature lines, btw. You must, of course know the closest thing to Silver (Ag) is the Lone Ranger's bum!
You still have quite a bit of 2016 to go, don't you? We're well into 2017 now. It is the future, and we are all wearing silver suits and driving flying cars. It's nice. Here are our local fireworks. They were excellent. Our view was slightly obscured by a palm tree that needs to grow a couple more feet by next year - the leaves currently obscure about 20% of the Harbour Bridge - but we saw most of the display.
No, a house. But we're on top of a hill about 50m from the water. So we get a good view from our bedroom upstairs.
We're going swimming in an hour or two as well. It's much cooler today than it was earlier in the week. It should be in the low 80s today, which is just right.
Just finished a shrimp and crab dinner washing it down with a bottle of Chardonnay we got wine tasting. One of the many nice benefits of living near Napa. Happy New Year to all!
I could, the options are endless. Maybe you'll keep your idea of moving west someday. A New Years resolution possibly!
I learned "Yes Dear" early on. Luckily I married one who is from the west coast and wanted to make her way back! That makes the process easier. But vacations out here during opportune times can help your case, say when the temp is 4 F outside with snow and its 50 or warmer with the sun shining here. I have gotten my mother convinced now just working on my old man, but that will take many more years. Keep fighting the good fight .
14 hours in, 2017 has yet not differed much, While hkmb seems to have a flying car and a skin-fungus-inducing silver suit, around here we just walk to our next appointments. Or ride donkeys. Latter are always negative about us snacking on donkey-hide-flavored dates* en route. This other side of the world is other. I really did not know, and unless you stumble over, you won't either. *Phoenix dactylifera, fruit of date palms, which many consider tasty enough without 'enhancements'.
