Maintainace Required light - what is the progression?

    I'm at ~4500 miles. Right now the MR light blinks about 3 times most (but not all) times I start the car.

    Does it get more insistant?

    Since it isn't on contstantly, I assume it is just reminding me to change the oil soon.

    You are correct. See the manual. This is normal. Its reminding you to get your oil change and hopefully they will reset it. When you hit 5000 it will stay on until you or the technician resets it. I reset mine using the directions in the manual and it was really simple! Good luck and you don't need to be concerned about this light.
