I would like to get a second set of wheels for my Prius 3 w/ ATP for snow tires. The factory all-season tires are Bridgestone Ecopia EP422 plus P195/65R15.The advise I am seeking is regarding wheel choices. Places like TireRack do not yet have the 2016 Prius in their system.

Steel or alloy? 15" Corolla steel rims work for 3rd gen, and probably still. They fit the hub precisely, no adapter rings needed.

Its the "probably" that concerns me. Is there any definitive information available 2016 Prius axle hub or am I better off waiting for the marketplace to catch-up? I would probably be interested in alloy wheels.

When I got those rims the dealership said they "thought" they would work, I was their Guinea pig. I did the whole package through them, it worked out fine. The rims are something like 06 onward Corolla, I can dig up part nos.

This was not the dealership we purchased through. Those guys said the Prius was their "flagship" vehicle, no Toyota steel rim was available.

Thanks. I remember when I priced a set of OEM wheels on my Gen-2 they were ridiculously expensive, hence I went with an after market product.. If you can dig up the Corolla part number that would be great.

Here's the info. The part no's are copied from the invoice, the comments in brackets are just my google research. You might want to go for acorn style lug nuts, the ones I ref are pretty utilitarian looking, don't have a shoulder either, so sockets tend to go down to the rim:

    snow tire: Michelin X-Ice2 195/65R15
Corolla steel rim, part no: 42611-02471 (2003-2008 corolla or matrix, CE, LS, S)
steel rim lug nuts: 90942-01007 (plain, open-ended, galvanized)

Also, the rim leaves the hubs exposed. I found a 2" ABS end cap covers it nicely. It's slightly loose, what I did was cut a section of bicycle inner tube, push it over the center hub opening on the rim, then push the cap down over that. Looks better and slows rusting I think.

I Plastidipped my wheel inserts. Looks really clean! At first I just removed the inserts, but the look of the bare tabs that the inserts clip into were killing me. I might actually paint my calipers red now for a pop of color...not sure yet though. What do you guys think? IMG_4083.JPG IMG_4084.JPG

Thanks! Yeah, I did photoshop to see em in red...will look great. The issue is, red calipers are typically on sports cars. Thinking it might be cheesy or trying to hard...lol

That's really nice, they also sell a glossifier, but I kind of like the contrast between the glossy wheel/paint and the matte finish on the inserts.

Thanks! Yeah, I was going for the contrast between matte and glossy
