I know. But the padding surrounding the anchor points is sticking out a little to far. It make you feel like you are sliding forward.

I really like the headlamps. Much better than my gen2.
    Also really like the responsiveness.

Wish it had a cargo net.

Plus: I'm averaging over 100 MPG to/from work (about 60 miles). Yahoo!
Nitpick: If I crank the music up, I cannot hear the Nav guidance (yes; I turned up the Nav volume).
Also wish it had a CD player (I have the Premium).

I think I will miss the CD player as well but it looks like CD players are going to be disappearing on all cars soon.

I wanted to give mine about a month of use before I started complaining.

Overall I love the car. There's a lot to like. So far the stuff I didn't really know about but like now that I've driven the car a lot are mostly the safety senese features. I upgraded from a 2004 VW and having any sort of sensors in the car is a huge deal for me. I didn't realize just how awesome they were going to be. In addition being able to drive all electric for large portions of my month but yet having 0 range anxeity is amazing. I'm probably an exception in the distances I drive without stopping, for example I drove for 8 hours yesterday with only one 10min food break, but for me an all electric car really would cramp my style and make drives like yesterday potentially impossible to do in a single day.

    Minus:
The touchscreen is essentially useless. I don't want to use Toyota's maps, nor any of their built in apps so it's basically just a more difficult to use radio. My phone does everything Toyota is trying to do but better by a factor of 10. If the Volt had had a closer MPG to the prime I'd have never chosen the Prime because the Volt has apple carplay. I'm probably on the far end of the spectrum of people annoyed by the screen but I'd be willing to pay into the low thousands for an upgrade to carplay/android auto.
Only other nitpick is that the sun visor doesn't extend. Seems like such a silly decision to not have it be telescopic.

To be honest the only reason I dislike the touchscreen so much is because of how amazing the rest of the car is. I test drove cars from early August until late November and the prime is by far the best car I test drove and I'm very glad I ended up buying it.

The touchscreen being so bad bothers me a lot as well. I like everything else about the car but am considering other cars for that one reason alone.

I think it's not quite right to say it's so bad. It's more that it's a missed opportunity. What it is is a large gps and easy to navigate touchscreen radio. For what it is it's fine. But the sad thing to me is it could have been so much more. I can respect not wanting a prime because of it honestly. So much of what you do in a car involves interacting with a multimedia screen these days that if you think a lackluster one is really a turn off I can see preferring a car with CarPlay.

I think Toyota miss an opportunity with the Prime . They should it gone for the 200 miles. Could have been alot better. Beat Tesla!!!

The Prime's range is 640 miles, and you can "recharge" 610 of them in 3 minutes. That flat demolishes any Tesla.

Have you had a car with it? The ability to directly control your media from a screen in your car is highly superior to what Toyota provides. I use Spotify, PocketCasts and apple maps all the time. All of them have car play apps which means I can control them directly from my dash. Being able to switch from an album on Spotify to a specific podcast in PocketCasts without picking up my phone and breaking the law was awesome in my old car.

In some ways, the in-car system is superior to using your phone, or your phone over Bluetooth, even with Android Auto or similar.

First, if I have all my music on a USB drive (which I do), it won't get interrupted whenever I get a notification on my phone, and I can control it from the touch screen.

Second, the nav system is actually quite good once you have a destination set, and better in some ways than a phone because it can use dead-reckoning whereas your phone cannot. When you are in a parking garage and trying to figure out which exit to take, this is helpful. I have literally exited a parking garage on the wrong side going the wrong way because my phone couldn't get a GPS signal inside.

Third, my kids can't ask me for it so they can play games while I'm trying to use nav.

Fourth, I don't have to keep it plugged in to make sure it stays charged.

Fifth, it'll stay on nav while my passenger uses the phone to search for stores, restaurants, hotels and the like.

Toyota nav has problems, especially setting destinations and getting updated maps. But once it's set, it works just fine. I have a Galaxy S5 and my wife has a Note 4, but I still use the nav in my 2004 sometimes and it works quite well despite never having been updated.

The one in the Prime is better. Yeah, I'll still use Google Maps too, but Toyota nav is a good supplement and will do on its own if you're patient in getting it set.

Just picked up the car. OK with the navigation especially with the traffic info.

Dislike: I don't know when and how the cruise control ends on the hwy. The danger is if the cruise control is cancelled the car won't brake on its own, keeping its distance. Yes, the emergency brake happens extremely close to the car in front of you.
