From what I can gather, the Prime uses an electric driven heat pump for climate control. If the ICE is running and the temperature setting calls for heating the cabin, however, wouldn't it make more sense for the car to make use of the waste heat from the ICE rather than to use up electric power? Does the Prime take into account engine coolant temperature and use conventional means of heating rather than an electric powered heat pump?
Yeah, tell that to the annoyed PiP owners that complain about the ICE coming on just because we need a little heat for that less than 10 mile trip.
