Hi All, I hit a deer last Wed. with my 2012 Prius Plug-in. I don't know for sure yet, but it sounds like it will be totaled by insurance. I am looking at buying it back and do the repairs myself, from a second salvage vehicle. I will be using this just for short local drives and being able to throw tools in without messing up either of the newer vehicles Has anyone done any swaps on their own. I am hoping that parts from a standard Prius will swap with the Prius Plug-in. Parts needed will be front left quarter and airbags. Both the ICE and EV worked after the accident. Thanks
It looks like standard sheet metal replacement parts.....why not to do it? I do not knot about the air bag deployment, maybe it will require a dealer's ECU reset.
Just wait till that's sorted. The air bags going off might be the deciding factor? I'm not so sure they'll call it totaled. You have collision insurance?
Hi again all, the vehicle was totaled finally. The amount insurance is giving me is less than I first anticipated, so I bought a used 2013 PIP. I will be starting a new thread with questions regarding that vehicle. Thanks,
USAA, they valued it around $11,500 which is probably fair. Someone had indicated $15,000 earlier, but that was more likely inaccurate. I have not officially settled yet, just got a notification late yesterday.
Wow...Wish you had pulled out the MFD unit and sold it to me Mine just went bad, and I am trying to find a used one instead of paying $2900 at a dealership.
That's not the MFD, that's the radio. Well I guess you could call it whatever you want lol. It's the premium HDD navigation unit. Could probably find one on eBay. iPhone ?
