Child seat behind driver... can I still fold down the rear seats?

Looking at a Prius or Prius v. I'm wondering if it's still possible to fold down the 60% side of the rear seats if I have a child seat installed (forward facing) on the 40% side behind the driver. Anyone have any experience with this?

    Thanks.

No problem, and no different than a passenger seated behind the driver while the other side of the rear seat is folded flat.

I think your question is more "is it permissible?". Look at it this way: if it's readily done, you didn't modify the seats or interior in anyway, it's doable, then it's fine.

Unless maybe you're transporting boa constrictors.

Thanks! It's actually a question of space. In my current car (Honda Fit) if I install the seat on the 40% side of the split, it overhangs into the 60% portion, blocking that section from folding down. It could just be a matter of getting a different car seat.

I'm looking to be able to haul long items (with the front passenger seat folded down as well) without having to remove the child seat every time.

Fold the seat down first, then put the child seat in!

I have a big car seat, the Chicco NextFit Zip rear facing on the 40% side and can easily fold up and down the 60% side with no problems, so unless you have a seat bigger than the NextFit Zip, you will have no problem.
