Prius Prime and Purchasing Discounts

Did anyone pay MSRP for their prime? we're about to head out to look @ at a couple. Is there room to negotiate down from MSRP?

 

there's a $500. toyota rebate, you'll at least get that.

 

I believe that is for a cash offer.

I believe the finance offer is 1.9% for 60 months.

 

I might have been the first Prius Prime purchase and was still able to negotiate. Received $100 off + $500 Toyota Incentive + black shifter applique.

Supposedly a minimum of $400 off MSRP + $500 Toyota Incentive should be your starting point

 

There is always room to negotiate, all depends where you go. Some dealers believe that above MSRP is the only option. I got a good chunk of change off of MSRP plus the rebate for my Prime.

 

I got $132 off MSRP today. Woop de Doo! I think the only ones on the east coast are at jim Coleman Toyota in Bethesda Maryland. So I wasn't in any position to negotiate.

i went to toyotainventory.com, plugged in my zip, and they show 19 primes, but no dealerships.

 

what's your zip? tried mine no primes in the list then I picked a Boston zip, still no primes

 

02026 i found one at toyota of watertown, and 2 at prime toyota of all places. i couldn't get the prime website to work though.

I'm not sure where you would have gotten that information, but per each manufacturer's website, the weights are as follows:

2017 F-150 regular cab, 2WD, 6.5-ft bed, 3.5 V6: 4,051 lbs/2.7 Ecoboost 4,139 lbs
2017 Silverado regular cab, 2WD, 6.5-ft bed, 4.3 V6: 4,510 lbs

2017 F-150 crew cab, 4WD, 6.5-ft bed, 5.0 V8: 4,801 lbs
2017 Silverado crew cab, 4WD, 6.5-ft bed, 5.3 V8: 5,444 lbs/6.0 V8 5,481 lbs

There is more to negotiate than just the price of the car. For instance, there is a Toyota Platinum warranty (100k miles/7 years bumper to bumper). There are dealer add-ons, such as paint protection. There is the trade in value of your current vehicle. I am going to go to several dealers and see who can give me the best overall price. Maybe some will cut you a better deal on your trade or the extended warranty.

My MSRP was $30,863, the car came with a few extras that I was willing to live with.
I was able to negotiate below this and I was given the Toyota rebate of $500 off, this rebate is an either/or cause you can choose their special financing instead of the rebate.
$865 transportation fee was added and is part of my final MSRP
I did not do trade in and even if I would have I would not let them know until final numbers are agreed upon for the price of the car.
I did not purchase an extra or extended warranty for the car cause my credit union offers one with the loan if I want it. If you want the Toyota one you do not have to buy it at that moment and that is something else that can be negotiated.
I had no other fees after this through the dealership I ended up going with, that I remember.

 

Which trim did you buy (plus, advanced or premium)?

Would you mind saying how much below the $30,863 you ended up paying ?

Not sure if it has already been posted here but I've heard that dealer's only get a profit margin of $800, so I wouldn't expect to get more than that off MSRP. I hear that the $800 is the same for all three trim levels as well. I do believe that the $500 rebate is separate, so best case would be $1300 off MSRP. This was coming from a Toyota salesperson whom I used to work with (before he became a Toyota salesperson). Not entirely sure if its true but figured I would share.

Has anyone got their Prime for less than $1300 off MSRP??? If so, please also list the trim level.
