Yea because the forester is now classified as SUV SUV Comparison Chart
    http://usnews.rankingsandreviews.com/cars-trucks/Subaru_Forester/
Forester was SUV of the years by motor trend from 2009 to 2014 but call wagon by Subaru another exemple of a wrong classification

Why was it a Station wagon in 2001? "Due to the Forester's low center of gravity, it meets the United States federal safety standards for passenger vehicles, and does not require a risk of rollover warning label on the driver's visor." Because it could be.

It'd be more advantageous to be labelled as an SUV to lower the CAFE ratings (Forester, PT Cruiser, HHR, Baja, Compass, Patriot etc).

@stephane , yeah and they probably see it as a small minivan but dismiss it when they find out it only seats 5 and not 7.

Honestly, it's like a modern reincarnation of the 1G Odyssey.

There were certain issues that I cannot disclose (since I haven't seen it published anywhere publicly).

Let's hope Toyota can develop a 6 or 7 pass for the next gen for the U.S. market :)

Hmm...top secret...are Canadians going to start having more kids?
    Expansionists, I knew it!
We kinda like going to the zoo and ballgames in one car.
That gives us 2 grandparents 2 parents and 3 children.
