This may be as good of a spot as any on Prius Chat to announce my sad return of my leased Prius. My current 2013 model is the third Prius I have owned. I bought my first Prius on 4 March 2005 and have thoroughly enjoyed all 11 years 2.5 months of fuel efficient driving. My wife and I are retiring from the work world and will be traveling all over the US and Canada in a 2014 Ford F-150 and 28 foot travel trailer for the next 2 or 3 years and will not need 2 vehicles. So, sadly I am returning my leased Prius to Toyota this morning. Maybe I will own or lease another Prius in the future. Once again it has been a REAL PLEASURE.
Congrats! Just don't bother recording MPG in the steel F150...we are in the same "boat" but sticking closer to home for the most part.

After traveling all over 12 western states (Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, Washington, Oregon, Nevada, California, Utah, & Arizona) plus 2 Canadian Provinces (Alberta & British Columbia), we have decided to continue our travels in a new Toyota Prius. After fantastic gas mileage for over 11 years in my Prius, I CRINGED deeply every time I calculated the 11 miles per gallon we got with the truck and travel trailer. Traded in the gas guzzler truck for a new Prius last Monday (trailer for sale too). Have not done first fill up yet, but looks like I am getting about 20% better gas mileage than previous Prius. LOVING IT!
Welcome back! Consider camping trips using Prius? I had a bit of Deja vu reading your post. We used to travel with a Tundra pickup pulling a 25-foot travel trailer. Recognizing the GHG problem, I gave away the truck and trailer and bought A 2013 hatchback. We took the Prius from DC to Alaska and back , using a dome tent designed to attach to small SUVs and hatchbacks at the rear of the car. We slept in the back of the Prius, which was much more comfortable and warmer than a cot, and used the 10x10 attached tent as a living room, dining room, etc. Turned out that our new combo was not only 5 times as efficient as the old rig (50 mpg vs 10 mpg), but also less hassle to drive, park, or maneuver into a campsite.
