Regarding HOV stickers... Are these things matched to the car's VIN? Or can California cars be sold without the sticker? Might not needing a sticker with a car purchase allow the buyer to save money?
I just talked with my dealership in San Luis Obispo and they got in my prius just this morning. Two more were also brought in. Not sure if they are already bought though. I'll post pictures tonight if I can make it to the dealership (sick with cold) and if anyone wants some stats just let me know.
congrats man! would love some hatch measurements when you feel better. can't wait to see your pics, all the best!
Carpool stickers are back, unlimited supply. "Per SB-838, and effective as of September 13, 2016, the Green Clean Air Vehicle Decal statatury limit has been removed" Source: Eligible Vehicles - Single Occupant Carpool Lane Use Stickers
There is no longer a limit to the stickers, so they will not affect the price anymore. Dealerships can preapply for the stickers, otherwise an owner needs to wait to get the licence plate number to apply. The application only costs $8.
That's why I have Lysol wipes. I don't think I can wait plus I'm traveling this weekend and need to show off my new car.
I hope your deal is already done and you have a copy of the contract. If not, walking into a dealership and not being on you A-game isn't the best thing; especially if you're on medication. GOOD LUCK!
My car's in: Magnetic Advanced. Visited it....2 miles on it. The screen is like the huge iPad! Delivery in 1/2 hour.
Do you know for a fact that dealers can pre-apply? Dianne says she can't yet. Also, the PDF I downloaded says the fee is now $22.
Oh. I'm a planner. Everything's planned out with this deal. Have everything in writing just need to sign my life away. I had a sheet of calculations just to see how much I'll be saving with gas and if I got solar on top of that. I want to install solar myself. Companies in this area especially rip people off. The dealership however is really nice and so far trustworthy. But I'll be vigilant.
I have an appointment at Tustin Toyota tomorrow at 5 pm to pick up my PRIME! I'll keep you all posted, but have to admit it may be later in the weekend as I will probably be spending some time getting to know the car. I am one of those who reads the owner's manuals cover to cover. BTW have you seen these: 10 Things You Need To Know About the 2017 Toyota Prius Prime and I this commercial: Toyota USA - YouTube

Fantastic that these are finally rolling out into the hands of many on the forum. Congrats! Good to know! Thanks! Good and bad, I guess. No discounts for not needing a sticker, but this unlimited availability also now shouldn't inhibit dealers from selling to customers out of their area.
I assumed the dealers would be able to, but I haven't looked into it in quite a while. I also didn't know the fee went up, granted it's still nothing considering it's a one time fee.
FYI, here is the sticker for the car I will be receiving tomorrow. Of course lots of other stuff to add: tax, license, etc.
