"Toyota has launched a TV advertising campaign geared at very specific prospective customers rather than a general national TV campaign to sell the Prius Prime plug-in hybrid.

That market niche equates to “tech-savvy, knowledge-hungry drivers ages 18-49 with household incomes of $75,000 or more and who tend to be environmentally conscious but also economical,” said Automotive News yesterday."

I'd still like to know who the target audience is? Who was the prime designed for?

I was referring to John's opinion. The o-p description rules me out. I'm too old and know too much, although I like tech. Toyota must prefer for me to jump ship from prius and go to tesla...or broken down chevys

I'm exactly in that group! And, depending on the price here in Canada, it could well be my first ever car :)

I see Prime ads on many web pages of sites I frequent. The Prime ads are more prevalent than any others and have been for the past week. I don't fit their marketing demographics.

I reserve judgement on the Prius Prime ads....

But I've watched a lot of the national Toyota "Jan" ads...
and going by them? My opinion would be....
Toyota seems to think the North American Toyota consumer suffers from brain injury and/or is on mind altering medications.
I'm routinely nearly offended by the portrayal of "us" the Toyota consumer.

But I suppose the advertising is better than the recent Chevrolet ad in which supposed potential customers are asked to comment on Chevy products using only emojis...BIG crying frowny face from me on that one.

With the jump in hard drug use more states legalizing both medical and recreational marijuana there is like a significant amount of the population that is on a mind altering drug.

After driving it for a few days, the tech is most likely my least favorite aspect of the car. The blind spot monitoring system is simple and intuitive, but many aspects of the touchscreen are just a pain in the nice person.

Would love to be able to turn on the FM radio with a simple button. Instead, I have to go through an unintuitive menu system. Have yet to locate EV mileage range remaining in the menu system

that may be their best ad yet. luckily, they don't show the 4 seats or hatch space. or the whole look for that matter.
