Since my dealer is only about 18 minutes from the Toyota Logistics Center in Long Beach, I wonder if they're just going to drive them over there. Probably a toss up in cost versus a car transport truck. Especially if they can have their lot crew drive them. (and my car is at the port, yay)
your dealer should be able to tell you how the cars get there, because they would do them all the same way. and about how long it takes.
Mine is in port already, just waiting for inspection and clearance and any port added options (front film and console covers). And hoping that it arrives before the day I have eye surgery.
I sent an email to my salesman at my dealership to notify him that Primes are coming off the boat on the West Coast and perhaps in Georgia and Tenn. If nothing else, it reminds him I am alive and still waiting.
Well, my email must have worked. Just got a call from my dealership. I am meeting with them on Monday to have them special order the Prime I want and eval my car for a trade in. I'm guessing a deposit as well. I feel like this will get things rolling. HAPPY !!!
Just put a deposit down on mine yesterday. Salesman couldn't give me any more information other than they are able to special order it now whereas they were not able to a couple weeks ago. Back to the waiting game for me as he will e-mail me once he knows more. Really hoping to get it by the end of the year.
Here on the east coast, Miller Toyota in Manassas VA says they have not been allocated any Primes but can order them if needed. If you PM me I can share "Toyota Sam" Lee's information. Just a happy customer.
1) put the order in. 2) put the order in the manufacturing queue. 3) build the vehicle. 4) schedule shipping. 5) ship to us. 6) inspect vehicle and ship to dealer. 7) prep and call customer. 8) i hope they can do that in 2 months!
I remember my son's factory-ordered Prius v taking less time than that. The salesman even discovered that factory-installed remote start was less expensive that having it port installed.
According to my dealer here in Eastern PA, the only Primes coming to the East Coast initially are coming to Maryland. Dealers can order them from there. My dealer has one blue Prime Advanced coming on the 15th for a guy who raised a big stink with Toyota about lack of distribution to look at and buy. If that deal falls through then it's mine. I also placed an order (with deposit) on another Prime just in case -- hoping it comes before the end of the year. P.S Been lurking for a few months but I am eternally grateful for this site for giving me the heads up on the Prime!
