It use to say 500 plus miles till empty after I fill up, now it says a little over 450, way would I get different mileage. Does some kind of tune up need to be done?
How many miles on your Prius? Has any recent work been done to the car that could affect mpg ( new tires, brake work, etc.). What is the mpg that is being displayed?
no, it doesn't really know how many miles you can drive on a tank. it uses your history for the calculation. your driving will determine how far you can go. a better indicator of how your car is performing is manually calculating and tracking your mpg's at each fill up. that's a good time to check the oil and tyre pressures too.
DTE is based on previous MPG so I suspect that your MPG is falling off slightly. That could be attributed to colder weather, winter fuel blend and other similar factors.
Yeah, don't count on Toyota for meaningful (and honest) info, do your own calculation, it's the only way to roll.
after putting in 40lbs of pressure and using the mobil1 hybrid formula "green cap" and mobil1 extended filter. My mile are almost back to normal for the winter season.. as of last night was fantastic for my commute home for further proof of decent milage. I live in NJ .. SM-G935T ?
If keeping logs and doing calculation is not happening, at least Toyota's mpg bias is fairly consistant: in my experience with third gen, if I take the value in the dash and multiply (multiply for liters/100 km, divide for mpg) by 1.075, I'm in the ball park.
