In SF Bay Area, where do I get used body parts? Any junkyard or recyclers specialize in Prius? Where do all the wrecked Priuses go? Sacramento? (Oh no.) I need a door in black color for my 2007 Prius.
Outside of sac in rancho cordova there are several recyclers. They have everything you need and more. I think Along 80 in Richmond there is one or two and one in east contra costa county. But I go to rancho for the parts I need.
I am looking for a gen 2 black passenger side rear door. If you have one around the Bay Area, let me know.
Ok. I am back to update. I got the door I need at HP motors. They are of course in Rancho Cordova. It is amazing all these recyclers are all concentrated on one street (called recycle road). HP motors has NOTHING BUT PRIUS. They don't run their business online much. You have to call them and chances are they have what you need. Others quoted me $250, $275, $375 just the door shell. HP needed $200 for a complete door. 5 hrs & 220 miles of driving thou from Fremont. They don't ship. Hardworking honest people they are.
Good to hear it worked out for you in rancho Cordova. That's a great deal on a door. Was it in black requiring no repainting? I assume so, otherwise you may have ended up at one of the other recyclers (I have gotten parts from TLS who is just north of HP motors on recycle road). They have more stuff online but more great deals to be had. If you are from Fremont you probably did 680 to 80 to get there (hopefully not through Stockton as their current road cons traction and traffic pattern shifts cause some major delays). Drove right through Fairfield. Now that you've gone once, you'll probably go back. If so, let me know and maybe we could meet up.
