So my baby has 3300 miles...and her first issue. This morning I noticed there is a dark spot on the plastic on the driver's side right next to the door. It's slightly sticky, and appears to be coming from the emergency brake pedal (stuck my finger up there and came back with a goo covered finger.) Obviously I need to get this checked out...but anyone got a guess on what it is? How much of a hurry should I be in to take it in? This is kind of a bad week.
I don't know of anything in that area that would leak, unless there was some grease on the emergency brake cable. Any idea what kind of goo? When I drive that's about where I put my left foot, could you have had something on your shoe? If it were me I would clean it up real good and see if it reappears. If it does take it in goo and all and see if the technician can figure it out, if it doesn't no problem.
no idea but if you're talking about the "scuff" plastic plate (well, it's curved anyway), yeah I had some odd drip marks on it. I used the Magic Eraser to remove most of it but it never happened again. Yes, those drips happened pretty early in my car's life.
I cleaned it up this morning to see if it's still coming out. It looked like some sort of lubricant. It is that scuff plate, and I haven't gotten anything gooey on my shoes without cleaning it off before getting in the car. I'm having it checked Thursday just to make sure I'm not going to lose my emergency brake...I live/park on a hill.

There's actually a *lot* of grease on the E-brake ratchet, so it's no surprise that some of it might have dropped off. You might consider crawling under there and carefully wiping off some of the excess. I've gotten a few wristfuls now and again while wrestling with wiring under there ... ick. . _H*
It's honey colored goo. I didn't notice a smell. I thought it had stopped but I looked again this morning and I think it is still coming out...either that or I have a bit of a stain from it.

Excess emergency brake pedal grease...nothing to be worried about...yay! And I didn't even have to leave the car.
