So, I am leaving work - driving down the hill minding my own business - not paying much attention to my surroundings. I stop at light at the bottom of the hill, behind a silver Pairs. I glance in the rear view mirror to see how fast I'm going to have to accelerate when the light turns green (you know what I am talking about...1989 corolla=slow...a monster truck = give it a little more juice) and I notice another Pairs behind me...and then another, and then another...I look to my right and there are two more.....so seven of us stopped at one light......a sleek pod of priuses...we all just smiled at each other (two very attractive ladies on my right, in the barcelona red) and gave the thumbs up and a happy honk and drove off....only in california.. I spent a week in Jacksonville last month...I saw 2 the entire trip............
I work here in Berkeley and from what I 've seen Prii's are very poplular here as well. Salsa red is the popular color in my work parking lots.
I was coming out of a parking garage after the opera one night, and the car in front of me was also a Salsa. As we got to the end of the ramp and turned onto the street, lo and behold there was yet another Salsa parked on the corner! First time I've ever had 3 of the same color at the same time (and red is, I think, the rarest color).
I probably see around 5-10 prii a day on my commute, there's at least 5 of them on my block already. Millenium silver is still by far the most common. It's gotten to the point where I almost wanna switch my millenium silver for the metallic grey. i'm just ranting, but there are A LOT of them in CA
Yeah lots here in San Diego too. It's becoming very trendy to have one, but I think in this case that's a good thing. Better this as a trend than purse dogs

i prefer priuseses. but i must see between 10-20 a day on the 91 and around orange county. use californians are nothing if not trendy, i mean green.
The "language police" have informed us previously that it's "Prius" for one or many. e.g. "A group of 6 Prius." But you can say whatever you like. That's free speech.
I still like Prii for the plural. Tucson Az (visiting family) has so many as does my little area of SD county known as La Mesa. We are tripping over each other here. Young, old, single, family, does not seem to matter. When the market is saturated is it still trendy??
