I wanted to take them off at the dealership at delivery. My wife talked me into leaving them on. The second trip she took in our pristine 'NOPEC', she scuffed a trim ring on a curb. I gave it another 2 months and then removed them. Looks so much cleaner. Just waiting for the next scrape!
I took mine off too, after seeing a Prius on a car carrier without them, I thought it looked a lot better. I noticed a decline in my MPG, but I think other factors were involved. I took them off when I got new tires, they were not broken in yet.... also needed an oil change and new air filter. Plus I think the dealer used the wrong oil... errr. So anyway, now that my tires are broken in and I put in the new air filter and will have the oil changed again this weekend..... I guess I'll take the stupid things off again....
