Sorry for the newbie Q. I would like to now if Toyota reps see after this forum and put some comments and answers. Thanks, alex
Umm, they do check it from time to time but they don't typically respond unless you have a very specific question.
The US Marketing arm is sometimes here. They are not technical. Nor do they have access to future plans.
Well, if they are here, I hope they take a liking to my project. Any and all support is appreciated! Bill the Engineer
Yes, we do occasionally come in and visit. That said, the best way to get our attention is by pinging us by name (as above), since the forum moves too quickly for us to follow every thread.
Well...the OP got their answer....from the Prius Team. As active, dynamic, and representative of a large number of Toyota Prius Owners and admirers that Prius Chat represents, if Toyota isn't at least paying cursory attention to the discussions revealed here? They are wasting an great asset of evaluation of their own products. The Prius Teams occasional involvement is testament to the fact that at least somebody within Toyota is aware of Prius Chat.
On occasion PriusChat members have sent letters to Toyota USA and have posted responses here. One example was approval of 5W-20 for Gen2 as Toyota said yes but must maintain 5k drain interval. One time I had a serious question (re: warranty gray areas) and Toyota Team helped me as much as possible to understand, and I posed same here. They answered for me (for us) the age old question if a car moved from CARB to non-CARB back to CARB state is it covered by CARB? Yes! But we don't have a frequent banter.
This is truth. While it's not always easy to participate, there's a huge community of smart, articulate Prius fans here with great feedback. It'd be silly of us not to read it - gathering that feedback is how you make good cars.
