My $5 solution to the visor problem...

    In other threads folks have posted their solution to the visor problem, and here I would like to chime in with mine.....
    I did two diy "visors" for $5. All components can be found in local Walmart.
    Here it goes:
    Components:
    1: 4ft magnetic tape: $2.97
    2: 2 pieces of bandana $0.99 x 2
    3: Some glue
    How to make it:
    Fold the bandana in the middle, and glue along the middle. That's it! No tools required.
    How to use:
    stick the magnetic tape on the metal door frame (as show). adjust as you need.
    Magnetic really makes it flexible, as you can put it on any part of the door frame. and it's every easy/convenient/safe/quick to remove as well.

    Great idea. However, may I suggest using craft foam instead of a bandana?

    Black craft foam

    It is semi rigid and can be cut into shape easily using scissors. A single sheet of craft foam can be found for about the same price as the bandana in most well stocked craft supply stores. It would also not be prone to possibly flapping into your face while driving.

    Also, they come in many colors, black, gray, white, red, etc., so it would be easy to match to the interior of your car.

    The more rigid foam seems more aesthetically pleasing, but the bandana would be easier to move aside to get a better look out imho.

    Velcro anchors glued to the stock visor. Velcro straps hold "cut manila folder strips" in place. The manila folder strips are easily moved to follow the sun; and are easily moved aside to use vanity mirror. This seems to be working; until something better comes along.

    You guys are creative.

    I just went with two big rubber bands around the visor. They hold a piece of black cardboard (same size as the visor).
    When I move the visor over to the side window, I just slide out the cardboard a ways.

    I got my windows tinted to 15% including the stripe across the windshield. Helps a lot, but a better sun visor would be great. I wish there were an aftermarket replacement.

    So is the magnetic tape attracted to the sheet metal of the car or does the magnetic strip consist of two strips, one of which is stuck to the fabric of the car with some kind of adhesive and the other to the makeshift "visor"?

    Something like this is sold on Amazon as VisorMates which may be a little less ghetto for thewraith

    Looks like one needs to plan on periodic replacement of their elastic bands which become loose with age.

    Yes. I directly attach the magnetic strip to the metal window frame. It works very well.

    Hahahaha. I thought the same as well.
    Considering an auto company that even went cheap on window visor just to save a few dimes, it's ghetto car meets ghetto solution, they are a perfect pair :)

    Now the big question:

    what do I do when the road is bendy, or I'm turning corners and I have to flip the visit between windshield and window positions? I wish a 2nd visit would magically appear in the windshield and I could have both at once
