She's been pretty quiet here for many months. Recently came back for a quick update on request. Wonder if she doesn't currently have advertising rights on this site.
good question, but if i wanted one asap, i would certainly give her a call. maybe it was the command from toyota not to advertise below cost or something.
Heard thru the grapevine that the Advanced won't be in So. Cal. until December, maybe later. Makes me sad. Haven't been this excited for a new car for many years.
Toyota of Santa Cruz is receiving a Silver Advanced in a few weeks. Call Jim, he was fairly upfront & ethical on the phone.
I am hoping Truecar updates their database soon. It is a great tool to negotiate price which I have used before.
As some have said, like kids on Christmas Eve. No doubt the old fogies here remember the 12-16 month wait for the 2004. I put my order in for my 2004 in February and got lucky that they got a car I liked in August. Otherwise, it was anticipated that I would have been waiting until the following April.
I had to wait a long time for my 2005. Came while I was on vacation in Vegas. So I might have lost my shirt but felt like a winner when I got home. It would be nice if Toyota or dealerships at least would give us a tease now and then. The silence about what is happening is the worse part. I was hoping to have a PRIME by Thanksgiving. Now I am thinking sometime in 2017.
I have been emailing my local dealership who is trying to get me to put down a deposit on a Prime. I don't want to be first in line and won't put down a deposit. I want to be in a position to negotiate and I know exactly what I want in terms of color and model. The salesman will get in touch with me when they are here in town. I want to check out the production model versus the preproduction one I drove a while ago and drive it for a while including some freeway time. He expects four cars sometime in November. If I have to wait to get what I want, then so be it.
Well, I went to see my dealer personally. Gave him a list of what I wanted in my prime and also said I wanted everything I listed ..color and all. Then I have been emailing him asking if I need to come up and put down a deposit or anything else. No words from him. Odd way to run a business. You have customers excited about your product and you ignore them.
Got an email today from the guy I am dealing with from my Toyota dealership. Said he is keeping an eye out for when Primes might arrive. Said there were done on the next allotment to this area. I told him I appreciated him keeping an eye out and all good things come to those who wait...but it is damn hard to wait.
I got an email from a local Toyota dealer guy. He had told me they were ordering a Prime to have on hand for test drives. The next email apologized and said the Prime was a special order and that they wouldn't have them any time soon. I guess by special order he means when someone orders one for purchase. Can't wait to drive one.
i hope that's not toyota's plan, though i'm not sure they're going to force all dealers to stock them. 50 state availability, with no push through won't be helpful to sales. i'm sure some dealers will be reluctant in the beginning.
My guess is dealerships are going to try and push their regular liftback Prius inventory first before the Prime begins to steal sales. Atleast it did for me since I couldn't care less about 4 seat vs 5 seat. I'll probably just keep the rear seats folded down for more cargo room anyways. Haven't heard from my local dealership since Monday and still waiting for them to even be able to order the car. I did send the salesman I've been talking to a Summary from Toyota's website using their Build feature. Kinda sad tinted windows are not even listed as an option there but I'm holding out hope the dealership can atleast do it to save me a trip to some 3rd party.
Got this update today from my local Toyota dealership: I just wanted to check in with you from Roseville Toyota. We found out the delivery of the Prius Prime has been pushed back to the end of November. We show two in allocated status at this point, and will be receiving more as we get into the month of November. Thanks for your patience. Sincerely, Judy Cunningham Manager, Internet & Fleet Sales Roseville Toyota-Scion
You might give your salesman a heads up to look for it. I sent my salesman the Summary from Toyota and when I checked he had to dig for it and found it. Said he would have missed it if I had not alerted him to look for it.
