I remember that episode. They chose that 2004 because it had a bad traction battery.

However I see a good taillight, side windows, LH side mirror, ...

Focused on the steering column mount today. After some brainstorming with leftover parts in my hands, I figured out how to put a bend in an extra Firebird steering column support rod so it could be used to support the bottom end of the Prius steering column assembly. It only took one bend in the rod and a new hole in the brake pedal support to attach it. I also upgraded to nylok nuts to ensure everything would stay in place through many years of future driving.

The column is now solid as a rock in the car.

    Onward to tomorrow!

    Just for bisco...

We now know that the Firebird hood will fit without interfering with any of the Prius v mechanical parts. :)

The weather in Ohio has turned. It is alternating between rain and cool. I have decided to give my wife her parking space back in the garage, which means the Firebrid is back in the corner and covered again.

If we get any warm sunny weekends, I'll roll it out to work on it some more. However, any major tasks will just need to wait for Spring to arrive.

Are you able to start the car at all?
If you can without a great deal of effort, it would probably be good to give it a chance to run and charge the HV battery.

All batteries and dash electronics are out of the car. The HV Battery will be fine self-discharging until I need it. The 12v battery has been on a solar cell trickle charger in a basement window for most of the year. Come spring, I'll be draining the stale gasoline out of the tank before I start welding on the body.
