I almost upgraded my gen2 into a gen4 earlier this year but pillar B and C exceedingly blocks my view in a way that the shoulder check is rather clumsy. How's prime doing? Anyone who actually sat in prime?
The body is pretty identical between the A and the C pillars so I imagine the visibility is similar to the Prius gen 4.
I "upgraded" to blind-spot mirrors. The Prime is the same exact size as the Gen4, right? Interior, seats, and everything the same too? (Except for the larger "Tesla copy" touch screen.) They can keep the plug-in, I just want the new new rear-end and tail lights.
They at least seemed to have enlarged the main rear window a bit as they point it out on their promo video !
The b and c pillar visibility was the same as the gen 4 when I drove the Prime. I personally don't have a problem with it. That's why blind spot monitoring is available.
One thing I did lately, helps some and I don't know why I didn't do it sooner, is flip down the rear seat head rests. Doesn't do anything for the pillars obviously, but lets you see into the corners of the lower window better.
Me too. I also remove the front passenger headrest. On the rare occasion I have a passenger it's easy to stick back in.
US whiplash protection standards dictate tall headrests. For the Sonic, it is possible to get the shorter ones for the Aveo from Europe, which might be an option with other models. With few passengers, I just took them out, and have them under the rear floor.
